My ideas originate from nature, either distant vistas or the minute intricacies of individual leaves and my chosen media allows me the freedom of expression that I need to complete each piece in abstract or semi abstract forms.

I find that as my mood changes so does the material I am using along with subtle changes in the colour and texture of the piece.

When I am working in oils, my favourite medium, it is the palette knife that allows me to alter the texture and depth of the colours. Both turquoise and orange allow me to push both the coolness and the warmth of the work to the limits in either direction, as the piece evolves.

I feel a tremendous sense of fulfilment when the artwork makes me aware of the emotions I had when I first considered the piece. It is this emotiveness that is my indication that the work is finished.
